Elevate Power Training Session #2 2018

Elevate Power Training Session #2 2018

Elevate Power Training has been working with athletes during the winter with our CycleOps Powerbeam load generating electronic trainers for many years now. It is by far the best training tool one could use, along with many other electronic trainers. We base our training on Functional Threshold Power and HR zones. As one learns their power and HR zones, you can take it out into the real world and tackle those rides and hill climbs.

To achieve your strongest riding season ever, sign up for Elevate Power Training!

Session #2 is open on the site. Follow this link and pick your day/days training Starts March 3rd and ends on April 29th (Full Calendar is here).

As a reminder to you all, please make sure your bikes are clean and free of any excess grime on your chain and gears. Check your tires for any kind of debris that may be lodged in them if you are not using a trainer tire.  If you would like to use a trainer tire, we would be happy to sell you one and install on your bike. (Please do not roll bike through parking lot, carry bike in for training).
Bring a towel for yourself and plenty of water to hydrate. (You may find bringing two towels is advantageous. One for yourself and one to wipe down your bike after workout).
Times are as follows:
Tue, Wed, Thur arrive no later than 6:30 PM so we can start riding by 6:45 PM (1.5 hour class).
Sat arrive no later than 6:45 AM  so we can start riding by 7 AM (2 hour class).

Elevate Cycles Custom Bicycle Wheels

Elevate Cycles has always enjoyed custom wheels.  Seems like over the years,  Elevate Cycles has built 1000’s of wheel sets.  Probably every wheel size you can think of from 20″ BMX Race wheels to Carbon Fat Bike.  While there is a bit of science be hind wheel building, it requires patience.  Rather an art form of patience is required by one to be in tune with spoke tension and the number of turns each spoke nipple has on it.

Custom Wheels have a noticeable ride quality to them above and beyond anything else out there.  Mostly the stability in corners and the responsiveness during acceleration. At times one will find a company that takes the care and effort to produce wheels of this caliber. With that said, technology is what regulates the price tag on these wheels along side quality of build. Consequently, Zipp Firecrest comes to mind.

While some riders are interested in a full custom build including their choice of spokes, nipples, rims and hubs to assemble, pre-built is an option.  Due to the level of stress these activities can put on wheels, Elevate takes the extra time to hand tension for quality control.   Especially relevant when building wheels for performance during Road, Mountain and Fat Bike cycling. As a result, the final product is non other than a beautiful performance driven wheel.

Elevate Cycles is here for the riders far and near to help them through the steps of choosing cycling gear to make their riding more enjoyable.

Time for Power

Make 2017 the best ever for your individual cycling goals with Elevate Cycles.

Whether it was your first century ride, triathlon, raising money with our good friends at the Tour De Cure, Team in Training or just being able to spend more time in the saddle and enjoying the ride.

We know that many of you are starting to plan ahead for next year, and we at Elevate know that the best time to begin preparing to reach your new goal is RIGHT NOW. Over the fall and winter seasons is the perfect time to start building the foundation for a stronger cycling season come spring. Elevate Cycles would like to help you become stronger, faster and more powerful than ever on your bicycle.

How can we do that?
With our CycleOps resistance power training studio.

Here is a quick glimpse at one of our athlete’s off season progress from last year training exclusively in the Elevate Cycles Power Cafe during 2013/2014:

The training started in November but the first training for this particular client began on December 14th 2013.  A bit late to the game but still showed very big results with three days a week of training on our CycleOps Power Beam trainers.  Elevate is the only Power training facility for cyclists in the area that uses these electronic Resistance trainers.

The next set of graphics are from the end of the training season.  Take notice of the flip flop of the heart rate and power distribution graphs.  Look at the power detail averages and max from April 14th 2014.

Maximum Power, Watts 731

Maximum Watts/kg 8.2

First ride outside and was able to hang with one of the fastest group rides around the region.  Ride was short but difficult, and would not have been able to put forth this kind of effort without the training over the winter.  Not all the info is there, but as you can see the training worked and paid off.
